Showbiz Presents: The Next Step

Classes To Help Take You From Competition to Career

Showbiz is very proud to offer a one day accelerated training program that focuses on the opportunities for a dancer off the competition stage. Each and every dancer will gain insight on what "The Next Step" truly can be!

Showbiz: The Next Step gives dancers a realistic look into stepping into the professional world by presenting each class as an audition. A Casting Director or Industry Agent will observe dancers in class throughout the day and at the Final Awards present a list of dancers who should return to the private callback. The question becomes....will you make it to THE NEXT STEP?!

This convention and experience is like no other. It has been specifically created to show dancers that you can actively excel in this business by working hard and understanding the audition process. This all day immersive audition will provide useful training as opposed to regurgitated choreography.

Your classes will be led by instructors who are professional dancers and choreographers that are actively working and persevering in today's industry in states across the nation. Dancers will receive classes similar to what is taught in professional auditions. Our faculty grew up dancing at Showbiz and now are fully booked dancers and choreographers in the industry. This faculty takes great pride in knowing how to work with children and presenting a class experience that will be educational, informative, and fun!

We look forward to providing a day of training which will help dancers better understand the process of making that leap into the professional world. Come join us and become better prepared to take THE NEXT STEP!

Registration Will Open Summer 2024! Mark Your Calanders!

Advice

Be yourself! Don’t try to be who you think casting directors/choreographers are looking for. Be yourself because that, in itself, is unique!

Get used to being told “NO” and being okay with that. This industry is hard, however, it can be very rewarding. All that “NO” means to me is “Next Opportunity” because there will be plenty!

Be a good and genuine person always. You never know who is watching! That could be the difference between you booking a job or casting going in another direction.

Grace Hilarides
Hip Hop

Grace Hilarides grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan where she danced competitively from the ages of 6-17.  Grace went on to attend Western Michigan University and graduated in 2018 with a BFA in Dance. Currently, Grace is living in New York City where she dances professionally, working with choreographers such as Hayden Frederick, Steven Blandino and Moriah Markowitz.  Grace is also fortunate to be able to travel the U.S teaching and choreographing for different studios, as well as working with Showbiz National Talent and The Next Step. Grace can't wait to be inspired by those she works with and create space for every dancer!

Kenya Lard
Jazz

She has performed in numerous live performances and shows including Carnival, Club Posers, and Vegas live performances with Pop Singer, Conrad Sewell. Kenya has also toured and taught for conventions and workshops, including Force Dance Tour, as well as assisting the industry’s top choreographers.

Her most recent work in the acting industry can be seen as a featured cheerleader for ABC’s hit show “Modern Family” as well as Awesomeness TV’s “Foursome”. Kenya has also recently worked alongside Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba for FOX’s new hit show “L.A.’s Finest.”

With all of her experiences in the industry, Kenya hopes to lead young aspiring dancers to reach their fullest potential and strive for greatness in whatever journey they choose to pursue!

Kira Di Martino
Musical Theater/Lyrical

Kira has immersed herself in the dance culture for over 30 years. Studying relentlessly, she moved through Dance Connection Scottsdale, Ballet Arizona, Ballet Etudes, Edge Performing Arts Center California and Millenium Dance Complex, mastering all styles of dance, as well as incorporating a fierce history in the theater arts.

Professionally, Kira performed with Justin Timberlake and the N'Sync Reunion Special and was a member of the Phoenix Suns Dance team.  She also performed on Royal Caribbean, Super Bowl XXX, No Authority music videos, as well as modeling and dancing for Matrix Hair industrials and local commercials for Toyota and Fiat.

However, Kira’s true passion has always been with teaching and choreography.  She has taught students across the country, including well-known dancers such as Dance Moms alum Kalani Hiliker, Zach Torres, and So You Think You Can Dance winner Lauren Froderman.  Currently, she teaches at The Next Step Convention, One Rhythm Dance Convention, and Danzetica Dance Convention, and is a guest master teacher for West Coast Dance Explosion.

Her advice for students today is to know your worth and know your level of passion.  If you have had a deep desire to dance since you were young and you have worked every single day to make this dream come true then it absolutely can, but the truly amazing part of training is that the beauty and discipline of dance will carry you through every level of life, starting with the confidence of eye contact to a future employer, to the confidence of public speaking to an entire arena. Stay Humble and at the same time intensely fierce.
